The Integral Accounting Enterprise system comes with an advanced reports generation engine with all source code implemented in ASPX.
This Report Engine allows users to dynamically create reports from pre-defined stored procedures in the Integral Accounting Enterprise System and render them for the screen, printer, or output them directly into Microsoft Excel for further analysis.

Enterprise ASPX Report Engine is a Web based Reports Engine that builds reports automatically from SQL Server 2000 Stored Procedures.

One of the many features of the Integral Accounting Enterprise package is a completely web based ASPX Report Engine that takes stored procedures from the system and builds reports based on those stored procedures dynamically and automatically.

This new ASPX reports engine is as easy to use as it is advanced, and can be accessed from the current Integral Accounting Enterprise system through the "reports" button near the top of the screen, or by selecting the "reports" tab in the main menu area then selecting the "ASPX Report Engine" link.

When run, the ASPX Report Engine opens in a new window and presents the user with a list of all of the stored procedures in the system that are used for reporting purposes (All stored procedures that start with "Rpt" for instance) and lists those stored procedures in a drop-down box. The user can select the stored procedure from this box, and press the "Select" button to load the stored procedure into the reports engine.

At that point, if there are any parameters for the stored procedure, a editable data grid is displayed that lists the parameters and allows the user to enter the parameters they want.

The user then is presented with a list of columns that will appear on this report. The user can select which columns should appear, and select which columns should be totaled on the final report.

Once the user enters the parameters, and selects the columns that they want on the report, and select the columns that should be totaled, they press the one of the output option buttons at the bottom of the screen, which will render the selected stored procedure as a report either to the screen, Printer, or directly to Excel.

If output to printer is selected, the system will simply display the selected report in a browser formatted for printing, with page breaks and such.

If output to screen is selected, the system will simply display the selected report in a modified data grid that allows paging through the records, sorting on the column headings, and will generate report totals automatically.

If output to Microsoft Excel is selected, the system will export the data directly into Excel and open the Excel program so you can work with the data instantly (Of course you need to made Microsoft Office 2000 or better installed on the client computer to use this feature).

Once the data is in Excel, you can use all of Excel's features and functions on the imported data. You can create charts and graphs, use the Excel analysis tools, and save the files in Excel format for later use.

You can also use this Direct Export to Excel feature to export data from the Integral Accounting Enterprise dynamically to any of the formats that Excel Supports, like comma delimited text. This will save you from having to write complex data export routines from the Integral Accounting Enterprise System to other systems or to text formats.

The Enterprise ASPX Report Engine, ships completely integrated into the Integral Accounting Enterprise System, which means that you can have the report headers do things like dynamically include information specific to the company that is currently logged-on, and have the system limit report options by the Integral Accounting Enterprise pre-existing security parameters.

More advanced users can easily create more output options by editing the source code that comes with the ASPX Report Engine, like having an export option directly to any of the other Microsoft Office Programs, or building custom reports like mail-merges.
